Following today's Book Musings, I thought I'd do a series of posts about books in what can be known as "Book Week"!

My favourite books/authors of all time (not in any order):
- Philip Pullman- His Dark Material Trilogy
- Philippa Gregory- historical novels, especially about the Tudors
- Malorie Blackman- Noughts and Crosses series
- JRR Tolkien- Lord of The Rings trilogy
- Robert Jordan- Wheel Of Time series
- JK Rowling- Harry Potter series
- Jane Austen- especially Pride and Prejudice
- Douglas Adams- Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy series
- Brandon Sanderson- Mistborn series
- Stieg Larsson- Millennium series
- George R Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire series
Current reads:
Just finished- A Mysterious Affair at Styles- Agatha Christie
I love mystery novels, and have a secret addiction to TV series such as"Murder She Wrote", "Poirot" and "Midsomer Murders"! The language of Agatha Christie is a little old-fashioned now, but the stories are full of surprises and brilliant characters. I loved the Doctor Who episode where the Dr and Donna met Agatha Christie π
The Unicorn and the Wasp
Currently reading- The Winter Ghosts- Kate Mosse
I've read Labyrinth and Sepulchre by the same author which were really good, so I'm hoping this is equally gripping. The first few pages have been a little bleak and depressing so I haven't read much; it didn't seem like an appropriate book when the weather was so dismal as well- didn't really help my mood! But I will persevere, I don't like to not finish a book unless it is truly awful!
New releases I'm excited about/can't wait for:

A Memory Of Light - Brandon Sanderson - 8th Jan 2013
Such a long time to wait! This will be the 14th and final book in the fantasy Wheel of Time series, which has been completed by Brandon Sanderson after Robert Jordan passed away in 2007. The previous 2 books by Brandon Sanderson have been brilliant, and I can't wait for the concluding episode in the saga, although I may have to re-read them to refresh my memory of what has happened so far!
The Red House- Mark Haddon - 10th May 2012
From the best-selling author of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" and "A Spot of Bother" comes another insightful novel about human lives. I've read his previous two books and loved the quirks of the stories that make them strangely gripping.

Peaches for Father Francis - Joanne Harris - 2nd Oct 2012
This continues on from Chocolat (which I have read) and The Girl With No Shadow (which I haven't and will now have to try and find!), set again in the same village in France.
The Casual Vacancy - JK Rowling - 27th Sep 2012
This is JK Rowling's first adult novel set amidst a British village during council election season. It sounds intriguing and I shall probably read it just to see whether she can write for adults as well as she can for children!
What are your favourite books or authors? What are you looking forward to reading next?
