A Place to Dream...
I (like many other girls-and guys, I'm sure!) have always dreamed of having a library like Belle in "Beauty and the Beast"! I love books and to have a place as beautiful as that to lose myself in them would be my idea of heaven... I haven't given up hope of it happening one day!
In the meantime I'm looking to create a relaxing place to enjoy reading in our new house. This is a really good article that I came across, with some top tips and gorgeous images.
My current study/library:
It needs some tidying (!) and I'd like to put some pictures on the wall, and maybe add a lamp to make it more cosy...

We have beanbags which are great for slumping in and reading (although somewhat more tricky to extricate yourself from later)...

And the books need organising in some way- we tried to put authors and series together when we unpacked but some are still a little muddled, namely the cookery books, which I feel should probably go downstairs in the kitchen...
Any suggestions?
<-- This is a really cute picture, somewhere that I would have loved to curl up and read as a child. I'm looking for a similar corner now, designed in a more adult chic fashion - with perhaps still a touch of frivolity and childishness... π
These images are so cool! What is about being slightly enclosed that makes a space feel secure and cosy? It goes back to pulling the covers over your head to read with a torch after the lights have gone out... A sort of den maybe!
This is a sweet idea, again using the corner to create that sense of a partially enclosed space... Love the monkey!
I will have to see what I can do- I will try and post some "after" pics once it's sorted π
