Hope you've all had a good week. Mine has been pretty uneventful, and I am definitely looking forward to the weekend!
I'm running the Park Run tomorrow at Eaton Park in Norwich, hoping to get an official 5k time that I can then improve on. It's a great set-up as once you've registered you can run at any Park Run throughout the country, as long as you bring your barcode to record your time. It's all run by volunteers too, so I'm hoping to do it on a semi-regular basis and help out in the future.
Anyway, here are some Fun Friday Links to get you in the weekend mood!
Food Fun and Autumn Recipes

- I love eggs- especially poached eggs on toast for breakfast in the morning, so having my own supply would be awesome! Here are ten great reasons to keep chickens π
- Pumpkins are the typical symbol of autumn and Halloween mayhem, and in the US especially they get a bit carried away with their love of the vegetable! Sales of Starbucks pumpkin spice latte go through the roof every "fall" so here is a recipe to recreate your own.
- There are numerous other pumpkin recipes to try, including Pumpkin Pancakes, Pumpkin Breakfast Quinoa, Pumpkin Oatmeal - the list goes on! But these require a stash of pumpkin puree, something you can buy readily in cans in the US- so here's a quick way to make your own homemade version- much better!
- If you are getting all domestic with producing chutneys and jams during the autumn and winter (tip: they make great Christmas presents!) then check out this bloggers amazing harvest so far- pretty incredible!
- Ever wondered why certain foods seem to go together so well? Well, here's the science behind ham and pineapple, pears and blue cheese, and apples and peanut butter, to name but a few!
- Chocolate caramel apples! Yum! I would quite like to eat one of these now...you know I'm all about spicing up my apples! π
Random Amusement

- What's your biggest pet peeve? How about atrocious spelling and grammar, or people using the wrong word in sentences? Grr... "It's affect not effect!"
- After my solo exploration and tramping through the woods last weekend, I thought a lot about how much I enjoy doing things by myself. Don't get me wrong, I love socialising too but sometimes it's fun to be independent and just do what you want to do...
- Has anyone in London seen these? Amazing! They made me laugh so much- I wonder how many people at first glance just assumed they were perfectly normal signs. My favourite is definitely the Harry Potter one!
- How to give friendly advice to people- a tricky subject but sometimes something you either want to or have to do. Here's how to approach it without coming across as a know-it-all...
- And lastly, a beautiful art installation in Canada...
Have a great weekend people! π
