So who's thought about their New Years resolutions yet?
The start of a new year is a great opportunity for a fresh start in lots of areas of your life, and I feel like this year this is especially true for me! New job, new house, new part of the country to explore and so many new experiences on our doorstep.
But its important to set realistic goals and not try to do too much, otherwise its easy to become overwhelmed and give up!
Most experts say try and be specific with your aims, so instead of just "Be more healthy" , go for "Eat 3 pieces of fruit a day" or "Walk a mile a day".
My resolutions focus mainly on exercise and trying out new things - with my current gym membership in Norfolk cancelled it gives me a chance to reassess and consider other options. I still want to keep running as I really enjoy it, and Mark bought me a Garmin Forerunner 10 for Christmas which I'm super excited to try out! And I'd love to enter some more races in 2013, I've got my eye on a few so we'll see how things go!
EDIT- First run with my Garmin yesterday, just an easy 4k jog around Surbiton - loved it π
I'm also really keen to give Crossfit a try - this workout regime has become increasingly popular over the past year, and I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about! The idea of functional fitness and increasing strength training is generally something I agree with and seeing the inspiring results from those people who've taken up Crossfit makes me really want to give it a go.
My other resolution is to make more effort with my appearance. I now have to dress smarter for work and I'd like that to extend to my "home" wardrobe too π
What do you want to try for 2013? I hope you all have a brilliant, happy and safe end to 2012, seeya in the New Year! π
