Moving House Drama

So this weekend we (well I) finally moved into our place near London! The moving itself went smoothly, with the van turning up on time, everything fitting, and managing to get rid of several bits of unwanted furniture on the same day.
But of course nothing is ever that simple, and unfortunately Mark came down with the norovirus (we think) the night before and had to retreat to his parents for a couple of days to recover. Poor guy. This meant I had to bite the bullet and be oh-so confident and deal with everything by myself. Eek! It actually wasn't as bad as I feared, and with a smooth drive down, everything was unloaded into the new place before it was even starting to get dark!
After collapsing on the sofa with a cup of tea, priorities then became getting the bed put together so I could have a decent nights sleep (having been rather disrupted the day before) and finding something for dinner.

I discovered these ready meals which were really rather tasty at our nearby Tesco Express, which incidentally is open 6am-11pm every day, how nuts! Useful though...
The next day which I'd booked off work I got the kitchen stuff unpacked and bedroom organised so I could have clothes to wear to work and cook again! I was so excited to be able to make my banana and peanut butter porridge this morning- looks unappealing but tastes amazing and I'd missed it so much! (By the way our bedroom has the best built-in wardrobes, I must take some photos to show you- there's even a shoe rack, heaven!)
My moving snacks... πŸ™‚
Hopefully Mark will be joining me soon, and we can have our first celebratory dinner together in the new house πŸ™‚
