Yay it's Friday!
Hope you've all had a good week and not been affected too much by this crazy weather. I wish it would just make it's mind up! Snow, then sun, then freezing wind...honestly!
Anyway, enough whinging...
Here are some fun links to make your Friday's pass with a little more amusement π
- If you haven't heard by now that Google Reader is being shutdown by Google on July 1st, then you need to check out this article. I'm trialling Feedly which automatically imports all your blogs from GR including categories, saved articles, etc and they say there will be a smooth transition once Google Reader is shutdown as well, so worth checking out.
- A great article discussing the phenomenon that is Park Run- I went to the Bushy Park one last weekend, and am debating making a second appearance this Saturday; it's slightly addictive!
- After International Women's Day last week, there have been a spate of articles debating and discussing the struggle women have to be taken seriously- this is a great article from BBC Sport about the giant strides made by female athletes during the Olympics (and since) but also how much more still needs to be done.
Jessica Ennis, woo! π |
- Is it ok to photograph your food? I sure hope so seeing as I do it all the time! That's fine when you're in your own home, but some restaurants have taken the step to ban people snapping portraits of their meals- too far?
- Only Japan would think up a women's only sleeping cafe, complete with cosy beds so you can nap in your lunch break! Or how about this cafe in London where you will be able to sit in an armchair and stroke a cat whilst you sip your coffee and read your book?
- And finally, Lonely Planet's Top 10 places to run a marathon- including the Great Wall of China and Antarctica! I personally like the sound of the African safari through a national park- fancy racing a lion?
Have a fun weekend! I'm having a girlie cheese and wine night this evening- bring on the brie, yum π
