Weekly Workout Recap: 7

Monday - Gym: Treadmill 5k plus w/up + c/down, approx 38mins
Tuesday - Gym: 30mins elliptical (hills workout). Nike Training Club 15mins ab burner.
Wednesday - Run: 2.5miles, 28:06mins, av pace 11:11min/mile
Thursday - REST
Friday - Run: 4.5miles, 51:23mins, av pace 11:21min/mile
Saturday - REST
Sunday - Gym: Cycling intervals, and weights.

The weather is still cold, windy and definitely un-spring-like! But I did pretty well with my runs this week, with only one indoors πŸ™‚

Good Friday's run was the longest distance I've gone so far, so there was a big sense of achievement about completing that! I went to Bushy Park again- it's definitely becoming one of my favourite places to run.

I bought some new running shoes on Saturday- I've had my current ones since I started running about a year ago, and I also wanted another pair so I can have one clean and one dirty for the times when I do run on the treadmill - I hate traipsing mud into the gym!

I went to Sweatshop in Teddington, and they did their gait analysis and kitted me out with the Brooks Ravenna - I love the colours! They also won Runner's World Best Buy for March 2013 with some great reviews, so I'm feeling pretty positive about the choice.

They're a similar level motion control shoe to the Mizuno Wave Nexus that I have been running in- the latest comparable Mizuno model is the Wave Inspire which I tried along with an Adidas pair, but settled on the Brooks in the end. Sweatshop offer a 30 day return guarantee so if after running in them they don't feel right, I'm able to take them back and change them. Plus with my Park Run barcode I got 10% off- awesome!

Can't wait to take them for a test ride run! πŸ™‚
