Fitting in Workouts
- Set your alarm earlier and run/exercise before work - this can be an exercise DVD, a yoga routine, an outside run or a trip to the gym on the way to work. Just remember that if you're running in the dark, to make sure you wear reflective visible clothing and always carry a phone or emergency ID tag just in case.
- Turn your commute into a workout - invest in a decent backpack, and run or cycle to work. You'll get in your daily sweat session and beat the rushhour traffic!
- Take a lunchbreak - go for a run in your lunch hour or hit the gym/sqeeze in a fitness class - even just go for a walk and get away from your desk. Even better if you can rope in some colleagues!
- Make a fitness date - the next time you're meeting friends, socialise during a walk or run, or take a yoga class together (followed by post-workout coffee of course...)
- Make the most of your opportunities throughout the day - take the stairs, walk the long route round the office to the toilets or water cooler, get off the bus/train one stop earlier - it all adds up!
If you're arriving at work in sweaty gym kit, or running in your lunch break then you'll probably need to shower before returning to your desk.
The Sports and Travel Towel from E-Cloth is made from specialised fibres which are 4 times more absorbent than cotton, and is therefore much thinner than ordinary towels. It can be rolled up very small, so is ideal for sports or travelling.
I haven't actually tested this out at work yet, but have used it at home. I do think it is a little small for a body towel, (100cm x 50cm - I used it on my hair) but if you just wanted something for a quick post-workout shower that wouldn't take up much room, then it would be ideal. It is very absorbent and dries quickly too, so wouldn't be making everything in your bag soggy.
