I’m not doing any big resolutions this year.
The events of the past few months have knocked my confidence in planning too far ahead. Everything I had mapped out and organised in my head has fallen apart, so I’m going to take this year one step at a time.
I’ve decided to set monthly goals instead. This will also hopefully keep me thinking about what’s happening now rather than just wishing the days away until an unspecified time in the future…
One of my main ambitions of 2014 is to run a half marathon (post coming up!) but I want to set smaller achievable goals each month too.
And not just fitness related ones. I need to rebuild my confidence, my sense of personal security and home life as well which will take time.
January
21 Day Yoga Challenge
This is being hosted by Charlie over the The Runner Beans, but it also ties in rather nicely with Erin Motz’s New Year 10 Day Ab Yoga Challenge, which I’d already signed up to. My friend Jo just invited my to a yoga workshop with her on Sat 11th, so I already have half of this challenge mapped out!
I’m hoping to give Bikram Yoga a try in the second half of January, so I’ll keep you posted on that adventure…
Jantastic
Check out this fantastic website and kickstart your running in the New Year- I’m already signed up along with nearly 20 other Team Naturally Run members! You choose your own challenge (me = 3 runs per week) and it doesn’t start until Mon 6th so you’ve still got time to get involved π
“Jantastic is all about getting 2014 off to a great start: getting you running, keeping you running and transforming your running. Anyone can take part. It’s free, it’s fun, it’s really simple and it’ll keep you motivated to run when it’s cold and wet outside. See what you can gain below by telling us about your running experience.”
Clear out my wardrobe
One of the good things to come out of my break-up is that I am buying my own place π With this in mind, I am looking to have a bit of a clearout (in the process of packing up), and downsize my possessions to fit a one-bedroom flat.
My wardrobe seems like a good place to start!
What are you hoping to achieve this year?
Beki x

Happy New Year Beki! Am very excited to hear about your half – I would love to do this one this year (maybe Royal Parks?) but it depends as the next 6 months of work are going to be super busy and with relocating I'm not sure I can commit myself to a planβ¦ but who knows π I too may start looking for a flat to buy this year once my exams are over, I just don't know yet which area I want to choose (and which is affordable for my budget!), but it's rather exciting at the same time! Otherwise, I'm coming from a similar place, just want to take each month as it comes and enjoy whatever life has in store for me. Wishing you a very lovely and fulfilling 2014 x
