I'm taking a handful of pills at the moment, in a variety of pretty colours!
VITL
VITL Nutrition Packs are designed to provide you with a comprehensive range of nutrients to help your body function at its best. They come in monthly deliverys which fit handily through your letterbox in a cleverly designed box - seriously, the packaging on these pills is one of the best parts!
Each pack provides a 28-day supply in tearable daily strips β perfect to take on the go! Every strip contains 4 pills that complement each other to make sure you have all bases covered.
- Multivitamin - essential vitamins and minerals
- Krill Oil - Omega-3 in a form which is absorbed better by the body than fish oil, no aftertaste
- COQ10 - co-enzyme which plays an important role in the body's metabolism
- Supergreens Capsule - a unique blend of natural antioxidants, a rich concentration of nutrients
I actually won my supply of Vitl in their "Summer Competition", along with a whole host of other goodies, but I was so taken with the idea I had to share!
I've only been taking the tablets for a few days, so it's hard to draw a conclusion on their effects but anything that might help improve my overall health and clear up persistent injuries is something I'm happy to try.

ATERONON
Ateronon Active is a natural supplement containing 500mg of highly bioavailable curcumin, the principal curcuminoid found in the spice turmeric.
I've heard a lot about the benefits of turmeric for inflammation - it's recommended for people suffering with arthritis as well as athletes and people taking part in any level of sport, particularly those struggling with injury. Turmeric supports joint and muscle recovery, as well as offering protection against DOMS!
With my niggly knee Ateronon sounded perfect- as a tablet it is easy to take every day, and their easy-to-absorb formula means that your body can take in more of the good stuff. I've started running again, and have been to a couple of fairly "bouncy" classes at 1Rebel and my knee, while not healed, is no worse.
I was impressed by the background to this product too - it's been scientifically tested at the Olympic Research Centre, created by Cambridge scientists and manufactured to the highest pharmaceutical standards (although the supplement is a wholly natural food product, not a drug).
Information
- Take 1 tablet once a day - Ateronon Active is absorbed quickly by the body to reach optimum levels and lasts for up to eight hours
- A one month supply - 30 capsules - costs Β£15.42
I've also been taking Glucosamine HCL & Chondroitin Sulphate which I mentioned in my Running Injury Essentials post earlier in the year.
Glucosamine is a naturally occurring nutrient and is a major component of cartilage which is the body tissue used to absorb impact and cushion our joints when we move.
This combination might seem a tad excessive, and I know some people believe that taking supplements is simply flushing your money down the toilet! However, with a busy life I do struggle to always get my 5-a day, and have been plagued by running related injuries so anything that might improve this has to be worth a try.
