WINTER SKINCARE ESSENTIALS

I'm kicking things off with some of the winter skincare items I've been using recently. November means cold temperatures and biting winds whilst out on your run, and hot showers and turning up the heating to compensate. All of these can lead to dry skin, chapped lips and poor circulation, leaving your skin looking and feeling dull.

Here are some of my recommended products:

1. Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - This is a cult product and little more expensive than some cleansers but I honestly haven't found one that works so well. I use it every evening as a gentle creamy cleanser that removes makeup but also hydrates my skin.

2. Simple Micellar Wipes - These are perfect to throw in my bag for a post-workout refresh when I don't have time to shower. Or if I'm heading to the gym after work and want to take my make-up off first - they remove all mascara without drying out my face.

3. What Skin Needs Cracked Skin Cream* - This is a more intense solution for problem skin and is ideal for cracked heels, or dry elbows and knees. I imagine this would be perfect for any Crossfitters or rowers out there too, who need something to protect and renew damaged skin on their hands.

4. Mio Body Brush* - I love this! I'd heard about skin brushing before but never tried it. As someone who struggles with poor circulation and always has cold hands and feet, this is brilliant. I use it after a shower or bath to get the blood flowing- it warms me up and has really made a difference to how smooth my skin is too. Dry winter skin sheds skin cells slower to this helps to exfoliate and bring back your glow! Always brush towards your heart and don't be too agressive.

5. Mio The Activist* - This firming body oil is another favourite, and one that I use after skin brushing. It's not greasy, sinks into the skin quickly and smells gorgeous! It contains loads of amazing natural ingredients to moisturise dry skin and is supposed to work wonders on scars and stretch marks too.

6. Mio Workout Wonder* - I don't use this every day but it's perfect pre or post workout or to ease tense stressed muscles from daily life. It's another amazing blend of essential oils, arnica, shea butter and other natural ingredients that can be massaged into hard working legs, and an achey upper back, neck and shoulders.

7. Vaseline - An old classic, but one I keep on my bedside table and wouldn't be without. I use it as a lip balm before I go to bed, and love the Cocoa Butter flavour and retro tin.
