WIAW : What I Ate Wednesday 23

Hello!

Today I have some fabulous food to share with you from yesterday, as well as some sneak pictures of my new bike! I was finally able to pick it up from the bike shop yesterday and took it out for a spin up to Bushy Park and back.

I need to get used to the very different riding position and balancing such a light bike (I can pick it up with one hand!) and generally stopping and starting is a little wobbly at the moment, but I'm sure that will improve. I love love love how easy it is to ride fast (or it felt fast to me!) and the gears are so easy to use. Plus it looks pretty sexy πŸ˜›

Anyway on to the food! As always head over to Peas&Crayons with Jenn for some more mouthwatering photos...

Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with raspberries
Lunch - Spicy chicken with mango and peas and sweetcorn
Afternoon snack - Apple with cashew butter *

I went for my bike ride after work and had a second snack in Bushy Park in the sunshine watching all the other cyclists, walkers and runners enjoying the evening. It was lovely. I ate a slice of carrot protein cake which I whipped up at the weekend - recipe to follow!

Chocolate carrot protein cake - great cycling fuel!

Dinner - Pan fried salmon with green beas and peas
Evening snack - 4 squares dark chocolate with ginger with a Yogi chocolate chilli tea. A great combination πŸ™‚

*This may have replaced almond butter and peanut butter as my favourite nut butter of all time! I need to buy a bigger jar next time, I got through this one in 4 days - oops!

Any tips for getting used to my new road bike? What are your favourite snacks for exercising?
