WIAW: What I Ate Wednesday 1
Jumping on the bandwagon here, but I generally take quite a lot of pictures of my food so I figured it would be informative to do a full days worth...
The WIAW idea was started by Jenn over at Peas and Crayons, and has quickly spread across the internet. It's now a blogging "social event" every week. Basically the idea is to take photos of and record everything you eat in one day, and then everyone posts their results on the same day (Wednesday), as a really great way to get meal inspiration and discover new foods. I'm excited to join the party! π
So without further ado, here are my eats from yesterday (Tuesday):
Breakfast
Banana porridge with chia seeds and crunchy peanut butter- I love this breakfast and pretty much eat it all the time during the week!
I also take a multivitamin and glucosamine supplement in the morning.
Mid-morning snack
Two red plums from our office fruit box and a cup of tea. I drink lots of water throughout the day at work too.
Lunch
We had leftover couscous from dinner so I made it into a salad to take to work- I added chopped cucumber, spring onions, cherry tomatoes, salad leaves and feta.
Mid-afternoon snack
Two jaffa cakes from the office kitchen (someone's birthday today so they brought sweets in- it always seems to be some occasion here so I have to be choosy!) and a green tea.
Dinner
I had a green smoothie when I came home.
Here's the recipe:
*SpirulinaΒ is a dense blue green algae with a 64% protein content, and is a natural source of many vitamins and amino acids. More information can be found here.
For dinner Mark and I whipped up jacket sweet potatoes topped with leftover chilli (from the freezer) and cheese, with a side salad.
Tuesday was a rest day after gym on Sunday and run on Monday, so later on I had a coffee from our new Nespresso machine (<3) and a caramel Tim Tam! Yum! (I'm a little obsessed with Tim Tams after spending a year living in Oz and on our most recent trip we brought many packets back with us!)
And finally before bed, I made a mug of tea to drink whilst I read my latest issue of Women's Fitness π
A pretty tasty day!
