Review: New Workout Clothes

Some of my recent workout purchases πŸ™‚
Β
Asics Headband

This is great for keeping my ears warm without making me overheat like a hat would. Plus it keeps my hair out my face, soaks up the sweat on my forehead (yes, ew) and holds my headphones in when I’m running- amazing multitasking for such a little thing! πŸ™‚ I bought it from Sweatshop for Β£7 in their sale but I’m sure you can get similar items in most sports shops.
CEP Compressions Socks
Β
Yes, I know they’re on the wrong feet in this pic!

I have some Zensah compression sleevesΒ which I really like, and I’ve found that they’ve helped a lot with calf/shin splint issues. I was looking for some socks to wear as the weather is colder, and also for post-workout recovery. The CEP ones came with good reviews, and seeing as you can’t get Pro Compression in the UK yet, which was the other brand I was looking at, decided to give these a go (Zensah also do socks, but I wanted to try a different brand for comparison).

Β
So far I’ve worn them for a couple of runs, and a couple of evenings post-workout. They offer a lot more compression than the Zensah sleeves, and are quite tricky to get on and off! They do seem to really support my legs though, and whilst I don’t think I’ve worn them enough to give a full review, my legs feel less achey the next day. Will have to see how it progresses!
Sweatshop T-shirt

I don’t know whether I would actually run in this t-shirt as it’s made from 100% cotton and I prefer wicking material such as Nike dri-fit tops for exercising, but it’s a really soft cute t-shirt and I love the slogan. (I bought this in the Sweatshop sale for Β£8Β and other colours are available.)
Nike DFC Empire Jacket

I haven’t quite made up my mind about this top yet, hence why the tag is still on it! It’s super soft and comfortable, with thumbholes (love!) and pockets, and made from a really nice material. But it is quite long, and as I’m quite a short person I’m not sure whether that really works. I wouldn’t wear it to workout in, but probably to throw on before/after exercising. (It was Β£31 in the Sweatshop sale).

EDIT: I’ve decided to keep this top. It is really comfy and it’s nice to have something to put on after working out, if you want to just pop into the supermarket, that looks more like normal clothing πŸ™‚

Ronhill Vizion Photon Jacket

I love this jacket! When I left my old job my colleagues gave me some vouchers for Wiggle as a leaving present (thanks!) and I bought this jacket with it. It’s great! Lightweight, but still keeps you warm and dry (it’s showerproof) and is bright yellow so makes me feel so much safer running at night. It even has a flashing red light on the back that you can turn on and off for extra visibility. You can get it in pink too if you prefer that πŸ™‚

What workout clothes are you loving lately?Β

  1. Beki you look fab in your workout gear! I'm def going to look at getting one of those headbands, I went for a run in a hat the other day and it was fine but I worried it was going to fall off. Plus I was a little too hot if I'm honest. Thanks so much for sharing! I'm loving my Nike running capris, you can't beat them!

  2. Thank you so much! The headband is really good as I also think I'd get too warm with a hat. I love running capris- they're the best! I've had mine for ages and they're starting to fall apart so they'll probably be on the list of new purchases next! Thanks again for reading πŸ™‚ Beki x

  3. Someone's been busy! I have an Icebreaker headband, which I LOVE. It's just so useful, particularly with long hair, hats just get annoying when you have to keep taking your hair down all the time! I recently bought some Ronhill leggings, which are great. They are nice and stretchy, with a cool key pocket at the back and reflectors! I really want to get a long sleeve to run in, I'm still using my softshell at the moment, but it gets quite warm! To be honest I always think I could do with another piece of gear, but I should probably just get on and RUN!

  4. Haha yeah I get a bit carried away buying exercise clothes! Being kitted out so you're comfortable and warm does make a difference to how much you enjoy your run though, and make you more likely to carry on!I love my headband too- so useful. I could do with some more leggings so I'll have a look at the Ronhill ones… Long sleeve tops are good- especially in this crazy weather! πŸ™‚ Beki x
